Greater Houston Career Alliance

Mission

The Greater Houston Career Alliance (GHCA) is a 501c entity that provides an informal network of Houston area community and faith based job transition support ministries.

The key mission of the GHCA is to support and enhance the individual faith and community based job ministry programs in their effort to provide counseling and job transition support to their members and participants. GHCA will provide a structured network for sharing information such as: ministry sponsored programs available to the public; best practices on ministry outreach and operations; and also providing an information conduit for government and corporate initiatives which may be limited in their ability to interact with individual groups.

Key Objectives

  • Provide a network and information clearing house for faith and community based job transition programs.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to other community and faith based programs that provide such services.

  • Apply the network to fully utilize individual ministry programs to connect employees and employers.

  • Interact with ministry groups to participate in, and promote career transition seminars, workshops, career fairs, and skills training and counseling for members in job transition.

  • Serve all persons regardless of race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation, through the community and faith based programs to enable these persons to locate a new career or employment opportunities.

  • To work with and cooperate with federal, state, and local government programs and agencies which provide career assistance to employees who are seeking employment and employers who are seeking employees.
